A brace each from Kevin Almeida and Flesbern Ferrao enabled St Rock's Youth Club, Calata-Majorda trounce Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 5-1 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League at St John the Baptist Dando Grounds, Benaulim on Wednesday. St Rock's Youth Club led 3-1 at the break.
St Rock's adjusted the heavy ground conditions following incessant rains from the word go and launched a flurry of attacks.
Kevin Almeida broke the deadlock in the very 7th
minute when he bulged the net.
Spurred by the early success, St Rock's upped the ante and Clinton Ratos doubled the lead in the 15th minute. Down by 0-2, Don Bosco Oratory stepped up the gas and in the 25th minute Floriano Vaz scored the consolation goal. Unfazed, St Rock's forwards continued to put the Fatorda team under pressure and at the stroke of lemon-break, Flesbern Ferrao added to Don Bosco Oratory's woes.
The second half did not bring any respite to the sagging morale of Don Bosco Oratory as their opponents attacked from both the flanks. Flesbern Ferrao struck a second time to register his brace and gave his team a 4-1 cushion in the 63rd minute. Kevin Almeida who was in the thick of action fired the final nail into rival's coffin to complete his brace at late in the
second half.
