Head coach of the Indian senior men's football team Manolo Márquez, announced a list of 26 players who could potentially compete in the upcoming Tri-Nation friendly tournament in Vietnam, on Monday. This tournament will take place during the October FIFA International Match Window.
The Indian team, known as the Blue Tigers, will play two matches: one against the host nation Vietnam on October 9 and another against Lebanon on October 12. Both matches will be held at Thien Truong Stadium in Nam Dinh. The final roster of 23 players will be revealed before the team departs for Vietnam.
The team is looking to bounce back after a disappointing performance in the recent Intercontinental Cup, where they played against Mauritius and Syria. Under the guidance of the new coach, Manolo Márquez, the players are eager to find their rhythm in this tournament.
Notable inclusions in the list are Vishal Kaith and Aakash Sangwan, who have been called up after several previous exclusions. Lalrinliana Hnamte and Farukh Chaudhary are also part of the squad, despite not being regulars in recent matches. The majority of the squad is similar to the one that participated in the Intercontinental Cup.
