Marina HS edge Agassaim YC Juniors to enter semis

In an exciting and closely contested match at the TSH Goa Cup 2026, Marina English High School, Verna, secured a hard-fought 2“1 victory over Agassaim Youth Club Juniors to book their place in the semi-finals.

The match began at a lively pace, with Marina drawing first blood in the 13th minute. Mackanzie found the back of the net with a well-taken goal, giving Marina an early advantage. However, the lead was short-lived as Agassaim responded immediately. Just a minute later, Enrique struck a swift equaliser in the 14th minute, bringing his team back into the game.

Both sides pushed hard for another goal before halftime, creating several chances, but neither could break the deadlock. The first half ended 1“1.

Marina came out stronger in the second half and wasted no time regaining the lead. In the 26th minute, Priyanshu scored what proved to be the decisive goal, putting Marina ahead once again.

From then on, Marina showcased excellent defensive discipline. Their backline stood firm, denying Agassaim clear opportunities and maintaining the lead until the final whistle.

With this victory, Marina English High School advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Priyanshu Kumar Yadav was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance and crucial goal. The award was presented by coach Dr Dewaraj Hirekurbar.
