The South Goa District Boxing Association convenor Pelajia Pires and under the Presidentship of Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude initiated the process of preliminary meeting to discuss the promotion of boxing in South Goa. Prof Ramrao S Wagh, Principal of Drama & Theatre Art at Ponda and Vice President of South Goa Boxing Association welcomed the aspiring members of boxing hosted at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda on Tuesday. Three centres were identified to start boxing at Nehru Stadium Fatorda, newly constructed SAG Sports Complex, Sada Vasco and a centre at Kashi Math or Sports Complex Ponda. The Minister assured all help for the development and promotion of grassroot boxing in all corners of the South Goa District.
GABA Vice-Presidents Lenny D’Gama and Felipe Dias were also present to explain the role of members and initiate the South Goa District Boxing Association. Fr Fredrick Rodrigues Vice Principal and Vice President of South Goa Boxing proposed a vote of thanks.
