Micky to perform dual role at Vasco

Vasco Sports Club will be the next destination for Micky Fernandes.The ex-India midfielder joined Vasco Club as defensive midfielder cum assistant coach for the 2017-2018 season.

Micky Fernandes plied his trade for Salgaocar Sports Club, Sporting Clube de Goa, Mohun Bagan, Dempo Sports Club, Air India, Churchill Brothers and Guardian Angel Sports Club. "I am happy to don colours for one of the oldest clubs in the state which has attracted the best players in the country time and again and has proven it's supremacy in the sport. In the past, the club has won many accolades. I was holding talks with a couple of other clubs before I signed for Vasco Sports Club," said Fernandes. The ex-India midfielder thanked the Vasco management and coach for having faith in his abilities to deliver for the club."I am thankful to Vasco management and coach for having faith in me and I hope to do well under him (Eban Mesquita)," he said having signed a one-year contract with the Vasco outfit. Micky can certainly expect a lot of responsibility on his shoulders with Mesquita's defensive midfield.
