The Mormugao Deanery Youth Football 11-a-side for boys and five-a-side tiebreaker for girls was held on December 4 at Regina Mundi School ground.
The first match was played between Sancoale and Chicalim Parish Youth and was won by Chicalim Parish Youth. Similarly, the Bogmalo Parish Youth (Girls) were defeated by Cortalim Parish Youth (Girls) in the first round of the 5-a-side tiebreaker. The rest of the matches followed.
In between various Parish Assistant Priests; Fr Aiden from Cortalim Parish, Fr Peter Britto from Sancoale Parish and Fr Benson from Vasco Parish came to watch the matches.
Chicalim Parish Youth (Girls) beat Baina Parish Youth (Girls) to win the finals of the 5-a-side tiebreaker for girls while Chicalim Parish Youth (Boys) defeated Vasco Parish Youth (Boys) in the finals of the 11-a-side boy's football tournament.
Both teams were given trophies and will represent the Mormugao youth team at the Diocesan Youth football tournament.
The tournament ended with the prize distribution and vote of thanks by Fr Costancio Carvalho. A total of 7 Parishes participated in the tournament.
