Navelim Sporting moved into the semifinals after defeating Cuncolim Union 3-0 in the Curtorim Villagers Cup organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at Curtorim ground.
Cuncolim Union had their first chance to score in the 15th minute but Trijoy Dias' shot went over the crossbar. Navelim tried to score but their strikers failed to find the net before the break. In the second half, Navelim scored through Nash Pereira in the 45th minute to make it 1-0.
Cuncolim tried their best to equalise but could not score. Navelim scored two more goals through substitute Terence Miranda, who netted in the 67th and 68th minutes, 3-0. Navelim Sporting's Nash Pereira was awarded the man-of-the-match prize at the hands of Cajie Dcosta, Konkani singer and composer from Curtorim.
Kiteboarding nationals in Goa from April 21
Goa’s Keona Rajani and Arjun Motha will defend their women's and men's titles in the Indian National Kiteboarding Championship to be organised by Premier Kiteboarding Association (PKA) in Mandrem from April 21 to 24.
Around 15 participants have confirmed participation and four of them are from Goa, PKA secretary Derrick Menezes informed. "This is the first time in Goa that formula Olympic kite class is being introduced, which is making its debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic games,” Derrick said. The Army Yachting Node are the main contenders for the Olympic kite foling class, according to the organisers.
Goa teams for fast5 netball championship
Goa boys and girls teams will participate in the 1st Junior Nationals Fast5 Netball Championship organised by Netball Sports Promotion Association of Delhi at Heeralal Public School, Delhi from April 20.

Second Division: Chapora YS thrash Pilerne 6-0
Chapora Yuvak Sangh beat Pilerne Sports Club 6-0 in a GFA Second Division League Bardez Zone match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa. Meanwhile, PVC Association secured a 2-1 victory against Benny Xl SC at Salvador. In another match, Bidesh Xl defeated Sinquerim SC 2-1 while Assonora United beat Cunchelim SC 2-0.
Cortalim Villagers down Cuncolim Union 4-2
Cortalim Villagers came from behind to secure a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Cuncolim Union in their GFA First Division League encounter at Navelim Ground on Wednesday.
James Fernandes gave Cuncolim Union the lead in the 15th minute with a well-taken shot. Velvino Fernandes doubled their advantage in the 29th minute with a clinical finish. However, Cortalim Villagers responded strongly in the second half with goals from Aniston Fernandes in the 49th and 81st minutes, Vijay Naik in the 54th minute, and Stalen Lucas in the 90+1 minute.
Salcete FC pump in half a dozen
Salcete FC put up a dominant display as they outclassed SCC Loutolim 6-0 in their GFA U-15 Division League encounter at Benaulim Ground on Wednesday. Steven Gomes opened the scoring for Salcete FC in the 18th minute before Pio Gomindes took over the scoring duties, netting four goals in the 22nd, 49th, 68th and 76th minutes. Mark Pinto rounded off the scoring for Salcete in the 64th minute with a clinical finish.
