Vaz new Sarpanch of Majorda-Utorda-Calata

MARGAO: Linet Moises Vaz has been elected the new Sarpanch of the village Panchayat of Majorda-Utorda-Calata.

In the elections held on Wednesday, Linet was declared elected unopposed as the new Sarpanch after the Presiding officer received her lone nomination paper for the vacant post.

She had served the Majorda Panchayat as the deputy Sarpanch in the year 2017. This is the third consecutive time that Linet has been elected to the Panchayat as a panch member.

Margao MLA launches nullah desilting works

MARGAOMargao MLA Digambar Kamat on Monday launched nullah desilting works in the constituency at a cost of Rs 35 lakh. Kamat launched the desilting work at the Rawanfond junction, behind the Rawanfond cemetery and works at the Aquem Baixo nullah which has been prone to flooding in the monsoons. He said the balance nullah desilting works will be initiated after floating the tenders.
