Parish Youth, Nuvem, made short work of Union of Chinchinim Villagers 5-2 and advance into the quarter-finals of All Goa 13th Guirdolim Panchayat Cup inter village football tournament organized by Guirdolim Sports Club at Church Ground, Chandor on Saturday. The highlight of the match was a splendid brace by Jebiton Fernandes.
Parish Youth started the game on positive note and forged ahead in the very first minute when striker Jebiton Fernandes slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. However their joy was short-lived as two minutes later Nickson Rebello neutralized the lead.
Unfazed, Parish Youth went into the attacking mode and in the 6th minute Inacio Colaco made it 2-1 for the Nuvem team. Hayson Velho put the issue beyond doubt in the 15th minute.
Crossing over, Parish Youth continued to dictate terms and fired a couple of pot shots against the rival goal and in the 42nd minute, Menstern Coutinho inflated the tally. Jebiton Fernandes struck a second time to register his brace and gave his team a 5-1 cushion in the 54th minute. Domingos Rebelllo reduced the deficit by a goal at the fag end.
