As many as six hat-tricks and 51 goals were scored in eight games, with Ronil Azavedo of Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce stealing the limelight with five goals as his team handed out a 15-1 drubbing to VM Salgaoncar College of Law in a college league match. His team-mates, Chandan Gawas, Yogendra Thapa, Jolitan Fernandes, too had a feast, pumping in three
goals each.
Reeve Costa ad Trijoy Dias were the hat-trick heroes in Rosary College of Commerce and Arts' big 10-1 victory over Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce. While most of the goals came in the college boys category, the junior boys section too had a field day with Vasant Majhi of Rosary High School scoring three in his team's easy 5-1 win over Our Lady of Succour.
The only game that bucked the trend was between Parvatibai Chowgule College and Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics. In a keenly contested affair, Stephen Satarkar starred by scoring two goals and helping Damodar edge Chowgule 2-1 with Gerry Fernandes scoring the other goal of the match.
In the only senior boys match played on the day, Keshav Smruti Higher Secondary School were runaway victors against Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal Higher Secondary School 5-0.
