Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club Verna defeated Saligao United 8-7 via tiebreaker to move into the semifinals of the 23rd Vagator Soccer 2023 tournament organised by Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club, at Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club Ground, on Tuesday.
Saligao United implementing the high press from the very start managed to take the lead in the 3rd minute when Michael Dias got a loose ball where he netted it in. Saligao doubled their lead in the 17th minute through Michael Dias.
At the brink of half-time, Noel D'Silva pulled one back for Rossman Cruz as he scored from a corner kick taken by Savio Fernandes.
Saligao United goalkeeper brought down Rossman Cruz's Hilton Fernandes in the penalty area awarding his team a spot kick in the dying minutes of the match. Savio Fernandes scored the equaliser from the penalty spot. The match ended in a 2-2 draw as the tiebreaker was implemented.
Savio F, Imam, Savio P, Hilton, Noel, Clifton Ajay and Joyston scored for Rossman Cruz while Nestor, Crespo, Nikhil, Latesh, Michael, Jayganesh and Alino converted for Saligao United.
The man of the match was awarded to Clifton Rebello of Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club Verna by Pedro Mendonca.
