Defending champions India were off to a winning start in the SAFF Women’s Championship when they defeated Pakistan 3-0 at the Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu on Wednesday, thus extending India’s unbeaten run to 27 matches in the Championship.
"It’s a great achievement from my team. Most importantly, we have earned three precious points with this victory,” Michele Castana, a key defender in the squad told the Goan Everyday after the win from Kathmandu.
“All the players showed responsibility both in defence and attack. Every match is important for us and we will take one match at a time," added Castana.
