Saligao SC thumped Benny XI SC 4-1 in a Second Division Bardez Zone match organised by Goa Football Association played at Duler grounds on Friday.
Saligao SC broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when James Fernandes found the back of the nets. Ajay Diwadkar struck a brace (41' and 43') to give the Saligao-based side a comfortable 3-0 cushion at the breather.
Post resumption, Benny XI SC could not make any headway in the game but somehow managed to break the seemingly impregnable rival citadel in the 71st minute when Clint Barros' strike went into the nets. Abhijit (Saligao SC) rounded off the tally with a goal in the 90th minute.
