Mapusa Dream Crushers beat Salcete Stallions in a super over, in the qualifer I to enter the finals of EMR Sarsangan Super Series Men's T20 Cricket at MCC, Margao.
Electing to bat first, Mapusa Dream Crushers were soon in a spot of bother at 37-4 in 6.3 overs, with Sandeep Dalal dismissing both openers. However, Kaushal Churi, got MDC out of the hole with a superb 43 and in company of Sanjay Netravalkar's 20.
The MDC innings got the desired momentum through Yash Prabhugaonkar, captaining the side, making 33 and with Rajaram Kundaikar's 11 helped Mapusa Dream Crushers reach a respectable 148 in 20 overs.
In reply, Salcete Stallions were off to a flier. Though the Stallions lost 2 wickets at the score of 47, Durgesh Prabhugaonkar's 51 helped Salcete Stallions reach 84 in 8.4 overs. With him returning, Salcete lost wickets in a heap to be reduced to 91-6 in 11.3 overs.
Saeesh Prabhu Desai's 26 and Sarvesh Prabhugaonkar's 20 took take them to the brink of victory. Needing 17 runs off 2 overs, the MDC's Yash gave just 1 run which left Salcete Stallions to get 16 off the last over of Mehank Dharwadkar.
Needing 9 off 1 ball, Mehank bowled a wide which went for 4 while on the last delivery, the batsmen scampered 3 off a misfield to tie the match and take the Qualifier I into the super over.
In the super over, Salcete Stallions could score only 6/1 with Yash Prabhugaonkar picking the wicket of the dangerous Durgesh Prabhugaonkar. In reply, Mapusa Dream Crushers reached the target making 9 without loss in 3 balls to enter the Finals.
Meanwhile, Madgaon Royals beat Atal Setu Brigade by 9 wickets in the Eliminator to enter Qualifier 2.
