Snows Football Academy, Raia shunted out Cuncolim Union 6-5 via tie-breaker
to storm into the semi-finals
of the South Goa McDowell’s No 1 Yaari Cup inter-village football tournament
organized by Cuncolim Union at Government School
Play ground, Cuncolim on
Saturday.
The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of normal period. Joisco Fernandes put the Raia based team ahead in the 18th minute.
Midway in the second half, Trejoy Dias cancelled the lead when he punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Oilex Olveira, Socky Cardozo, Jollliton Fernandes,
Allwyn Dias and Jaison Gaunkar converted for
Snows Football Academy while Verson D’Souza,
Ashlipio Pinto, Melywn
Fernandes and Raajesh Gaonkar found the mark for
Cuncolim Union.
