St Joseph’s High School Arpora, Saraswat Vidyalaya Mapusa and SFX High School Siolim entered the semi-finals of the Bardez taluka Subroto Mukherjee under-14 boys football tournament organised by DSYA at GFA Duler grounds.
In the first match of the day, Saraswat got better of Holy Cross High school Bastora by a 2-0 margin. Rohan Mangaonkar and Neal Lanjekar scored for Saraswat in the second half.
In another match, SFX High School Siolim defeated Little Flower of Jesus High School Calangute 5-1. Dominic Fernandes scored three goals while Brandon P and Yuvraj Chodankar scored a goal each for the Siolim school. For the Calangute school, Bilson Kerketta scored the only goal.
In the last quarter-finals match, St Joseph Arpora outclassed St Xavier’s High School Moira by a 6-1 margin. Aryan Poll scored five goals while Topan Minj scored one goal. For the Moira school, Rakesh Sharma managed to score one goal.
The semi-finals are scheduled to be played on Monday July 9, where SFX Siolim face St Joseph Arpora, and St Joseph Calangute take on Saraswat Vidyalaya Mapusa.
