St Sebastian Sector registered a 6-4 tie-breaker victory over St John the Baptist to enter the semi-finals of the Benaulim Youth Inter-Sector Football Tournament organised by Prime SC at St John the Baptist grounds, Dando-Benaulim on Friday
St Sebastian were dominant in the initial stages and took the lead in the 20th minute when striker Jackson Fernandes intelligently lobbed the ball over the rival goalkeeper John Hira. But the joy was short lived as St John the Baptist restore parity the next minute through Mohammed Bepari who connected a swift pass from Jose Menino Mona.
The second session was mostly restricted to the midfield but in the closing stages Nelson wasted a chance for St John the Baptist. In the tie-breaker, St Sebastian scored through Standley Fernandes, Milton Silva, Decklan Fernandes, Leander Fernandes and Jackson Fernandes. For St John the Baptist the scorers were Osie Fernandes,Jose Mona,Ramsay Fernandes and John Hira.
