In an exciting start to the 9th Mini U-14 National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, Goa triumphed over Maharashtra by a commanding 61 runs in the opening league match held in Sholingpur, Tamil Nadu.
Goa set a formidable target by scoring 83 for 3 in their 6 overs. Swarit Gaude played a pivotal role with a stellar knock of 32 runs. He was well-supported by Paras Gaonkar, who added 20 runs to the total. The lower order also contributed, with Satwik Bhomkar remaining unbeaten on 10 runs and Sarthak Satarkar 8 not out.
In reply, Maharashtra struggled against Goa’s disciplined bowling attack. They were restricted to 22 for 5 in their 6 overs. Goa’s bowlers were exceptional, with Paras Gaonkar (2 for 4) and Satwik Bhomkar (2 for 2) each taking two wickets. Avnish Naik (1 for 4) claimed the other wicket to fall.
