Top archers take part in NRAT finals

Top archers of the country including Olympians, World Cuppers, Commonwealth and Asian Games medal winners, both in Recurve and Compound division participated in the finals of the National Ranking Archery Tournament (NRAT) held here.

The Indian men recurve number one Mangal Singh Champia and recurve women number one Deepika Kumari besides the compound number ones in men and women - Rajat Chauhan and P Lily Chanu were seen in action.

The Youth Common Wealth Games champion in junior recurve Prachi Singh, sub junior recurve boys silver medalist Nishant Kumawat and junior recurve bronze medal winner in the YCWG Atul Verma also competed in the final ranking competition. The two-day tournament which was conducted for both men and women in senior, junior and sub-junior categories was held at the Polo grounds here.

A total of 96 archers took part in the NRAT finals besides Asian Games medallists Tarundeep Rai, Trisha Deb, Jayanta Talukdar and veteran Bombayala Devi. The winners in each of the categories will take home cumulative cash rewards worth Rs 27 lakh.
