Tuff Laxmi Prasad Sports Club registered an impressive 4-1 win against Vasco Sports Club in the eleventh round match of the Goa Professional League (GPL) at Duler stadium, here, on Saturday. In the first half, the score was 3-0 in favour of Tuff Laxmi Prasad SC.
In the very 2nd minute Vasco SC’s Agnelo D’Souza took a shot that deflected off the rival team crossbar and flew out. In the 18th minute, Francis Onyemas’s shot that deflected off the crossbar and came back into the field of play was seconds later perfectly sent home by Ndubuisi Opara.
The men in yellow and green were placed with a golden opportunity to increase the lead in the 21st minute when referee Shaikh Niazi found Jerson Pereira, the goalkeeper of Vasco SC was guilty of making a tackle on Remus Gomes in the danger zone and pointed to the penalty spot. Micky Fernandes who stepped forward made no mistake in scoring from the penalty spot and increasing the lead margin to 2-0.
In the 28th minute Vasco SC's Aghin Ashokan's powerful shot landed straight into the hands of Siddhesh Morje, the rival goalkeeper.Seven minutes later, Tuff Laxmi Prasad SC made their first switch by pulling out Josely Dias and sending in Agnelo Colaco.
In the 38th minute, goalkeeper of Tuff Laxmi Prasad made an incredible double save to keep out shots from Vasco SC’s Criston Fernandes and Agnelo D’Souza. During the injury time Opara scored a goal to make the score tally 3-0.
After the lemon-break, Vasco SC made a double substitution by replacing John Fernandes with Shubham Dessai and Yogesh Nepali with Melistan Pereira. Three minutes later Vasco SC pulled back one goal through Hayson Velho. In the 67th minute, Agnelo Colaco increased the misery for Vasco SC by netting in the ball in the upper left goal corner to make the score 4-1. In the 87th minute, Vasco SC’s Sujit sent a cross to Hayson Velho whose shot went straight into keeper, Siddhesh’s hands.
