UB 40 dominated the game right from the word go and launched a flurry of attacks. They did not have to wait long as Joliton Fernandes beat the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish off an assist from Maxon Fernandes.
The second half did not bring any relief to the sagging morale of St Sebastian Union Club players as their rivals attacked from both the flanks. Joliton doubled the lead in the 39th minute.
Down by 0-2, St Sebastian Union finally managed to the rival defenders under some pressure and Raju Chalawadi reduced the deficit to 1-2 in the 41st minute. Joliton Fernandes scored his hat-trick in the 56th minute to complete a dominant win.
UB 40 were awarded a winner's prize of Rs 20,000 while St Sebastian Union Club bagged Rs 15,000 for the runners-up finish. David Fernandes, Panch of VP Benaulim, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Raul Cardozo and other dignitaries. Domnick Noronha welcomed the guests and later proposed a vote of thanks.
