UC Nerul book last-four berth

United Club of Nerul made short work of Goan Warriors 3-1 to cruise into the semi-finals of North Goa McDowell's No. 1 Yaari Premiere Cup inter village football tournament, organised by Anjuna Gymkhana at Anjuna Gymkhana ground, on Thursday.

United Club of Nerul dominated the game right from the word go and never allowed their opponents to settle down as they raided the rival citadel often. United Club of Nerul had a chance to surge ahead early but Anson failed to beat the rival goalkeeper in a one-to-one situation.
United Club of Nerul drew the first blood in the 31st minute when striker Yeshwant picked the ball from Anson and the former punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish. At the other end, Goan Warriors failed to make any decisive moves after falling behind.
In the 33rd minute, Jackson scored his team's second goal when he received the ball from his own half and outwitted a couple of defenders, punting the ball to the far corner of the net.
Crossing over, Goan Warriors put up a decent show and their forwards made couple of attacks and Vishal's rasping shot was well blocked by the Nerul goalkeeper. Untroubled by the scare, United Club of Nerul went into the attacking mode and had two scoring chances. However, Lincoln and Davendra shot wide from hand shaking
distance.
Siddhant put the issue beyond doubt in the 55th minute. With time running out, Jovian netted the consolation goal for the Warriors. After the break, Nerul's goalkeeper made a good save to stop Goan Warriors from scoring through Vishal's cross.

UC Palolem power into semi-finals

United Club of Palolem got the better of Snow's Football Academy, Raia 3-1 via tiebreaker to move into the semi-finals of South Goa McDowell's No. 1 Yaari Premiere Cup inter village football tournament, organized by Cuncolim Union at Government Village School Playground, Cuncolim on Thursday. The regulation period finished goalless.
