United SC, Seraulim produced a good show to drub Dando Boys Club, Benaulim 3-0 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League at St John the Baptist Dando ground, Benaulim on Monday. United SC led 1-0 at the break. Jesmon Rodrigues (25th), Flossio Fernandes (50th) and Olvier D’Souza (54th) scored for
the winners.
United SC were dominant and their superiority bore the fruit when Jesom Rodrigues slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot in the 25th minute. Stung by that setback, Dando Boys tried hard to come back into the game but their efforts were nullified by the rival defenders.
The second period was no different as United SC kept up the pressure over the Benaulim team and in the 50th minute, striker Flossio Fernandes doubled the lead. In the 54th minute, striker Olivier D’Souza killed the contest when he converted a
spot kick.
Raia Sporting win
Raia Sporting Club defeated Arlem Youth Association 2-1 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division league match at Panchayat ground, Raia on Monday.
Raia dominated the game, especially in the first half, when Oilex Olveira bulged the net in the 16th minute.
Changing over, Raia enjoyed ball possession but had to wait till the 80th minute to double the lead when Joyner Gaonkar punted the ball to the far corner of the net. With time running out, Arlem Youth Association managed to score a consolation goal through the boots of
Joe Pango.
