Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna blanked St Joseph Convent High School, Aquem 2-0 to march into the quarterfinals of 4th St Joseph Vaz memorial inter school football tournament organized by Mount Mary’s High School, Chinchinim at Church Ground, Chinchinim
on Monday.
The highlight of the day was a brilliant brace by Jesver Crasto. St Joseph found it very difficult to get things moving and were undone by Regina Martyrum.
In another match, Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda defeated Infant Jesus High School, Colva. Maxwell Furtado was the hero of the day as he scored a hat-trick while Vellio Pinto and Jordan Azawado scored one apiece. Sujit Kunnar and Sagar Rathod were the other goal getters.
Earlier in the day, the tournament was inaugurated by chief guest Fr Jose Antonio Da Costa, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Hope Church, Chinchinim, Girish Nair, former Maharashtra player, and Steven Dias, former India player.
