MARGAO
The third All Goa Chandrakant Karapurkar trophy tournament gets underway today at SAG Fatorda grounds with Maruti Sports club, Margao locking horns with Lapaz CC Vasco.
In the afternoon session, hosts Sportsweek will play against Eagle Sports club Sankhali.
The inaugural match will commence at 9:30 am with toss at 9 am.
MCC were the winners last year with Chowgule Sports Club runners up. This year the semi-finalists shall be given bye till quarterfinals.
This year the quarter finals onward matches shall be played under lights at Dr Rajendra Prasad stadium (MCC) as the first All Goa inter club tournament to do so.
This tournament is organised by Sportsweek CC and sponsored by Chirag Naik of Commonwealth Developers.
