Agxem SC beat Unjirim United 3-1 to move into the final of the 4th Cumborda Sports Club football tournament organised by Cumborda Sports Club, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim on Monday.
Unjirim United took the lead in the 15th minute through Floyd, but the joy was short-lived as Manu equalised for Agxem in the 25th minute. Post resumption, Steven gave the lead to Agxem in the 35th minute. Steven scored his brace in the 45th minute to put Agxem into the finals. The Man of the match trophy was awarded to Daylen of Unjirim United.
Indian Army conducts cycling event
The Indian Army organised a cycling event to celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahatosav’. The event comprising of 75 and 30 km routes was flagged off by Brig AS Sawhney, Commandant 2 Signal Training Centre. It was conducted by 3 Military Training Regiment located at Margao.
Cyclists of Indian Army, Indian Navy, Xaxti Riders, EPFO Goa Regional Office and other cycling enthusiasts of all ages and walks of life participated. The cycling route covered the picturesque and scenic landscapes of South Goa. An army band performed on the occasion. A brief talk on Agnipath scheme was given to motivate young riders to join the armed forces.
