Arunachal win a big boost: Coach

MARGAO
Goa defeated Arunachal Pradesh 2-1 in Group III of 76th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy in Assam on Sunday.

Speaking over telephone from Assam, Goa coach Norberto Gonsalves expressed satisfaction over his team's performance. "When you win a game it helps the team. It was very important to get these three points. I think in terms of results, we can be satisfied,” Gonsalves told 'The Goan'.

“Every game is the same. After one draw, everything was negative and now we won again and all seems to be very nice. When we finish one game, the score is not important. We have to start again in a new week with a good position, with hard work, because we know how this competition is very equal,” the tactician added.

After a 2-2 draw against Uttar Pradesh in their previous match, the Goa coach believes his team can do better. “I am happy. I can be happier but after one draw you can see the good teams after bad results. This is the moment that you show your character, personality and your mentality. I am satisfied because we won the game but I have the feeling that the team can play better,” Gonsalves explained.

"We could have scored a couple of more goals, but that is not important. What’s important is creating chances, which we did."
