Bardez Veterans made short work of Joe Cookies Veterans 2-0 to clinch the Candolim Veterans Cup football tournament organised by Candolim Veterans at Dr Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim on Sunday.

Jess Fernandes of Joe Cookies missed two chances to score in the 10th and 12th minutes. Shailesh Miskin of Bardez Veterans scored two quick goals, finding the net in the 20th and 30th minutes.

Individual prizes: Goalkeeper of the final - Jude Fernandes of Bardez Veterans, First scorer of the final - Shailesh Miskin of Bardez Veterans.

Blaise Fernandes, sarpanch of Candolim, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up, in the presence of Allan Fernandes, Sameer Toraskar, Bruno D'Souza, Patrick Gonsalves, other dignitaries and club officials.
