Churchill Bros aim to bounce back against Gokulam Kerala

MARGAO

Two-time National Champions, Churchill Brothers, will look to regain their winning form when they face Gokulam Kerala FC in the I-League at Raia Panchayat Ground on Friday at 3:30 pm. Sitting second in the standings with 23 points, Churchill Brothers have only suffered three losses this season. Head coach Dimitris Dimitriou emphasized the importance of bouncing back after a 1-1 draw against SC Bengaluru.

Dimitriou, confident in his squad’s ability to respond positively, acknowledged the strength of their opponents but remained focused on his team’s capabilities. “We are playing against a strong and experienced team, but we aim to win and return to form. The draw against Bengaluru taught us a lot, and we are ready to improve,” said Dimitriou.

The coach expressed disappointment with the previous result but reassured that the team has worked hard over the last three days to come back stronger. "All the players are ready and available. The mood in the dressing room is great, and everyone is looking forward to Friday's match," Dimitriou concluded.

On the other side, Gokulam Kerala's coach Antonio Reuda is bracing for a tough challenge but hopes his team can carry their momentum forward. “Churchill Brothers are a good and well-organized team. We need to stay focused and maintain our form to secure a win,” Reuda said.

Gokulam Kerala FC, currently in sixth place with 19 points, will be hoping to bounce back after their two-match winning streak was broken by Inter Kashi. This fixture is particularly important for both teams, with Churchill Brothers eager to regain consistency, while Gokulam will look to close the gap with the top contenders.
