Cortalim SWSC rally to beat Bidesh XI SC

Cortalim Villagers SWSC overturned an early deficit to claim a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bidesh XI SC in a Goa Professional League clash. Bidesh took the lead in the 32nd minute when Garrison Fernandes’ shot beat Cortalim goalkeeper Frevino Fernandes. Despite sustained pressure and several chances, Cortalim were kept at bay by a resolute Bidesh defence and goalkeeper Cydon D’Souza, who made key saves before halftime.

The second half saw a momentum shift as Cortalim increased their attacking intensity. In the 49th minute, Norman Dias capitalised on a scramble in the box to equalise. The winning goal came in the 85th minute when Sidney Lucas converted a penalty after a handball, completing the comeback. Cortalim’s defence held firm in the closing minutes to secure the victory.

Meanwhile, at Tilak Maidan, Vasco SC and Churchill Brothers played out a 2-2 draw. Ronaldo Pereira opened the scoring for Vasco in the 22nd minute, with Richard Costa equalising for Churchill in the 62nd. Vasco briefly regained the lead through Harshad Naik in the 78th minute, but Aliton Furtado struck late to ensure both teams shared the points in an evenly contested encounter.
