MARGAO
Cuncolim Union made it to the finals defeating CAC Cansaulim 2-1 in the All Goa Inter-village Seraulim Village Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim at SAG ground, Seraulim, on Thursday.

The match started at a very fast pace with both teams trying to create inroads. However, the defences of both teams stood their ground. It was ultimately in the 21st minute that Cansaulim took the lead when Rahul Magennavar, after receiving a diagonal pass, headed the ball home to give Cansaulim a 1-0 lead.

At the lemon time, CAC Cansaulim led 1-0. In the second half, Cuncolim Union took charge and made many inroads. First, it was Alister who curved the ball over the advancing goalkeeper Katamani only to see the ball sailing over the crossbar. It was again Cuncolim's hard-working Daulat who ran and trapped the ball beautifully. However, he was unable to convert and saw his try hitting the side netting.

Cuncolim, at last, managed to score their equaliser in the 50th minute when Dailon Carvalho's weak shot was let in by the Cansaulim keeper. Cuncolim mounted pressure and just a minute before the final whistle, they scored their victory goal to enter the finals.
