MARGAO
Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda defeated San Jose de Areal 3-0 in the Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim.
San Jose de Areal were a superior team but erratic shooting by their forwards Platini and Marcus denied them any goal scoring advantage. In the 22nd minute, Sweton Rebello of Don Bosco capitalised on a through pass from Ritchie Vaz to score the opening goal of the match.
In the second half, it was Sweton Rebello again who moved solo from the right flank and scored from a tight angle to make it 2-0. San Jose de Areal forward Stalen Oliveira chipped the ball into the penalty area and the keeper could not collect the ball properly and it fell right near the goalline, but Sezwin Fernandes shot the ball inches wide of the goal from close distance. Sweton Rebello completed his hat-trick when he scored with an assist from Francis Andrade to make the scoreline 3-0 for Don Bosco.
