DBO Fatorda hammer PY Nuvem 6-0

Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda trounced Parish Youth Nuvem 6-0 to move into the semifinals of the Rising Cup 2022 football tournament organised by Rising Club of Sanvorcotto Cuncolim at Cuncolim ground on Thursday.

Don Bosco scored three goals in the first half through Maxwell Furtado and Sweton Rebello's brace as they scored in the 16th, 18th and 20th minutes respectively. In the second half, Sweton Rebello netted the fourth goal for Fatorda in the 46th minute.

Up-and-coming player Rishabh Karrpurkar then netted a brace for Fatorda, scoring in the 56th and 63rd minutes, 6-0. Man of the match prize was awarded to Sweton Rebello of DBO Fatorda at the hands of Shrikant Desaai, ex-footballer.

Rossman Cruz shoot into Fr Andrade finals
PANAJI: Rossman Cruz SC Nagoa edged PY Nuvem 7-6 on penalties to enter the finals of 21st Fr Basilio Andrade Football Tournament at Musson ground, Majorda, on Thursday. The teams were level at 1-1 after full time.

For most part of the play, the teams adopted a cautious approach and never allowed any player to stay unmarked. The defence of both the teams looked alert with Fulganco Cardozo strong in clearing most of the Nuvem moves. Rossman Cruz goalkeeper Schubert Moniz had a good game, so did Nuvem keeper Mackeino Colaco.

Romario D'Costa scored in the 16th minute to give Rossman the lead. PY Nuvem exerted pressure and managed to equalise in the 37th minute. Myron Borges, with a pass from Cajeten Fernandes, put the ball into the far corner of the net, 1-1.

In the tiebreaker, Rossman Cruz prevailed as Noel D'Costa, Iman Gulad, Fulganco Cardozo, Romario De Costa, Sheldon Periera and Clayton Fernandes found the net from the spot, while PY Nuvem converted through Inacio Colaco, Cajetain Fernandes, Alloysuis Fernandes, Francis Colaco, and Alloid Colaco. Rossman Cruz will meet CAC Cansaluim in the finals on Sunday.

Rotary Club rapid chess tourney on Nov 5, 6
MARGAO: Rotary Club of Margao in association with BPS Sports Club and Salcete Taluka Chess Association will conduct the All India Open Rapid Fide Rating Chess Tournament 2022 at BPS Sports Club premises, Pajifond, Margao,Goa on November 5 and 6.

The tournament is open to all players registered with AICF. The total prize money for the tournament is Rs one lakh and cash prizes will be awarded to the top 30 players and Fide rating categories of unrated, ELO 1000 to ELO 1200, ELO 1201 to ELO 1400, ELO 1401 to ELO 1600, ELO 1601 to ELO 1800 will be awarded. Trophies will also be given to the top 10 players in open section and top 3 in each ELO rating category. The entry fee for the tournament is Rs 500.

The reporting time is 2 pm on November 5 at BPS Sports Club AC Hall. Nine rounds will be played with the first round starting at 3 pm. The last date of submission of entries is November 4 by 5 pm. Qatar WC: Fans without tickets can apply for Hayya Card
DOHA: FIFA World Cup fans having no match tickets but still planning to travel to Qatar have some good news. Those fans who do not have match tickets, can apply for their Hayya Cards to enter Qatar through the Hayya platform or Hayya mobile app from Thursday, World Cup organisers announced on Thursday.

Hayya Card is a permit to enter Qatar and fans buying tickets had to register to get the Hayaa card which have several World Cup linked things like accommodation and it also served as a visa. With the latest announcement fans who do not have match tickets can enter Qatar after the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group Stage - which starts from December 2 - "to enjoy the unique tournament atmosphere here with teams and fans in the country."
