Dunes SC secure final spot after thrilling tie-breaker win

MARGAO: Dunes Sports Club, Mandrem, advanced to the finals of the Marcus Mascarenhas (Mark) Memorial Trophy tournament after defeating United Sports Club of Seraulim in a dramatic match that ended 1-1 and went to a tie-breaker, where Dunes triumphed 5-4.

The first goal came from an own goal by a United Sports Club defender in the 25th minute. United Sports Club fought back fiercely, equalizing in the 50th minute. In the tie-breaker, Dunes Sports Club held their nerve to secure the win.

Dunes Sports Club will face Canacona Sports & Cultural Club in the final on October 30th. Savan Lotlikar was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from Sandy D'Costa and Joaquim Pereira.
