Mandopa SC defeated YC Manora 3-1 in their GFA First Division League match at Navelim Ground on Thursday.
Ajay Raj was the star for Mandopa SC, scoring two goals in the 6th and 26th minutes while Rovan Pereira added the third goal in the 65th minute. YC Manora fought back with a goal from Eldon Colaco in the 75th minute but it wasn't enough to secure a result.
The game was marred by red cards for both sides with Presly Pinto of Mandopa and Pravin Rathod of YC Manora receiving direct red cards in the 90+8 minute. Mackroy Peixoto of Mandopa SC and Eldon Colaco of YC Manora also received second yellow cards after the match.
SJD Areal edge Curtorim Gymkhana 1-0
Sao Jose de Areal secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Curtorim Gymkhana in their GFA First Division League match at the Don Bosco Fatorda Ground Thursday. The game was heading for a goalless draw until Vasudev Dhamgoy scored a late winner for Sao Jose de Areal in the 90+1 minute. The result boosted Sao Jose de Areal while Curtorim Gymkhana will be left ruing missed opportunities.
Rossman Cruz make it to semifinals
Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna moved into the semifinals after defeating Betalbatim Sporting 2-0 in the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2023 at Curtorim ground on Thursday.
Rossman scored the first goal through Imamsab Guledgudda in the 22nd minute. Betalbatim missed a chance to equalise as Ronaldo Coelho's shot went wide. In the second half, Rossman scored the second goal through Imamsab Guledgudda in the 59th minute. Guledgudda was named the man-of-the-match and received the prize from John Dcosta, ex-player of Curtorim Gymkhana.
Ugem Rising down SCC Cavelossim 3-2
Ugem Rising Club defeated Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim 3-2 to move into the quarterfinals of the Our Lady of Assumpta Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Sarzora Sports Club at Church ground, Chinchinim on Thursday.
Cavelossim opened the scoreline through Mauvin Gracias in the 8th minute before Handlee Carvalho netted the equaliser for Ugem in the tenth minute. Ugem netted two more goals through Handlee and Pratamesh G in the 23rd and 26th minutes respectively. With two minutes left for the final whistle, Mauvin Gracias made it 2-3 in the 81st minute.
