Forca Goa Foundation launch 'Be a Game Changer' for Little Gaurs League

The Forca Goa Foundation announced the launch of its new campaign, "Be a Game Changer," in conjunction with the Little Gaurs League (LGL) for the 2024-2025 season. This initiative highlights the crucial role that every player, coach, referee, and community member plays in shaping the future of football in Goa.

The Little Gaurs League will kick off on November 23 across four zones in Goa”Monte de Guirim, Sinquetim, Tuem, and Vasco. The league will run for five months and culminate in the LGL Super Cup in April 2025. As one of India's largest grassroots football leagues, it will engage over 1,600 young players while promoting the early development of football talent.

Key Highlights of the Little Gaurs League:

A mixed-gender competition for U6, U8, U10, and U12 age groups, along with an exclusive U13 girls' category.

Participation from over 150 teams, including more than 290 girls, promoting inclusivity in sports.

A focus on long-term competition to enhance game time, decision-making, and overall football skills among players.

Coach Riddhish from GFDC Navelim described the mutual growth between players and coaches, calling the LGL an "excellent platform" for development. Similarly, Coach Khatri from Compassion FC praised the league's ability to provide ample match time, crucial for player improvement.

Nathaniel da Costa, Head of Grassroots Football at the Forca Goa Foundation, stated, "Football is more than just a game; it’s a community effort. With 'Be a Game Changer,' we aim to highlight how every individual can make a lasting impact on the sport's future."

The campaign will launch alongside the league’s opening matches, featuring community events, challenges, and game-day activities designed to engage football enthusiasts throughout Goa.
