FC Goa started the match brightly, controlling possession in the opening minutes. However, Geno FC gradually grew into the game, with Jachi and Faheez creating dangerous opportunities. The first half ended scoreless, with neither side able to break the deadlock.
The second half saw a more aggressive Geno FC. Faheez had a golden chance to put his side ahead, but a misplaced touch after dribbling past three defenders squandered the opportunity. The introduction of Joysana Singh as a halftime substitute proved decisive. He capitalized on a fine pass from Gautam in the 71st minute, firing a shot past the FC Goa goalkeeper to give Geno FC the lead.
Geno FC's midfield trio of Mehmub, Shahjahan, and Nigel controlled the center of the park, stifling FC Goa's attacks. While Nigel threatened with a solo run, his shot went wide. FC Goa's Brison and Likson pushed for an equaliser, but Geno FC's goalkeeper, Akshat Hadkonkar, stood firm, making crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
