Goa were beaten by seven wickets by Pondicherry in the girls category on day 2 of the 31st Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, on Tuesday.
Batting first, Goa scored 36 runs in 6 overs
Pratiksha Kerkar was the top scorer with just 10 runs who was supported by Vibha Jalmi (8). Alisha Akarkar(7) also added to the scoresheet.
In reply, Pondichery chased down the target in 5.4 overs. Pratiksha managed to pick up a wicket for Goa.
In their second match, they defeated Karnataka by 7 wickets after restricting them to 22 runs in 6 overs. Pratiksha Kerkar was once again instrumental with her 2/9 bowling figures. Purva Gaude and Samiksha Patyekar picked up a wicket each.
The Goans chased down the target with ease in 1.1 overs thanks to an unbeaten knock by Alisha Akarkar (20) who was supported by Riyansha Naik (4).
In the boys category, Goa beat Madhya Pradesh by 36 runs. Batting first, the winners posted 65 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 8 overs.
Kannaya Gaude (15), Harsh Gala (11), Pratik Naik (10) and Vallabh Naik (9) contributed with the bat. While chasing, MP were skittled out for 29 runs in 5.4 overs
Manish Rao (2/5), Kannaya Gaude (2/7) and Akshad Naik (1/6) were effective with their bowling spells.
The Goan boys scored a comprehensive 90 runs win against Kerala in their third league match after posting 109 runs on the board. Kerala were bowled out for paltry of just 19 runs.
