Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola defeated Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem by 4 wickets to move to the semi-finals of the Goa University inter collegiate cricket men championship, at Goa University cricket ground, Taleigao.
The toss was won by the Government College Khandola who elected to bowl first.
Government College Quepem posted 131/7 in 20 overs. Rohit Kalmankar 32(29) and Vedant Madgaonkar 20(14) contributed with the bat. Abdul Mashal (3/29) and Narendra Tari (1/9) were economical with the ball for Khandola.
In reply, Government College Khandola chased down the target in 19.3 overs.
Saish Gawde 59(43) not out and Omkar Navelkar 33(45) were excellent with the bat. Gopal Naik (2/16) was the only bowler who stood out for Quepem.
In the second quarter-final, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim won by 8 wickets against Sridora Caculo College of Commerce & Management Studies.
The toss was won by Sridora Caculo who opted to bat first. They posted 116/9 in 20 overs.
Pandurang Halarnkar 28(14) and Saish Kerkar 21(21) were the top scorers of the innings.
Abdul Ahmed (2/17) and Ajay Raj (2/31) recorded commendable bowling figures for Rosary College.
In reply, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim chased the target with ease in 18.2 overs.
Ajay Raj 52(45) not out, Abhijeet Rathod 40(52) Not out were the architects of the innings.
Rudrakshy P Sangodkar (2/16) was the lone bowler to stand out.
