The Goan lad impressively triumphed over IM Mannion Stephen Richard (SCO), Costa Gil Correia, Tarelho Bruna Silva, Silva Renaldo Joao David Batista Da, Ferreira Vasco Capitao Mendes, Costa Rul Felipe Magalhaes Da of Portugal, and Cernadas Camean David of Spain.
Starting as the 15th seed, Ameya defied expectations by securing 7 wins out of 9 rounds, accumulating 7 points and clinching a joint 2nd position with three other players. Despite finishing 5th on tie-breakers, his performance was nothing short of exceptional. The first place honor was claimed by IM Roshika Yevgenly of Ukraine with 7.5 points, while GM Ptetrov Nikita of Montenegro, GM Kovchan Alexander, and IM Larkin Vladislav of Ukraine secured the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
