Dempo Sports Club take on Keinou Library Sports Association in a no hold do-or-die encounter in the I-League 3 Play-Off, at Nagoa Panchayat Sports Complex, on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
Both teams will be eyeing a win to keep their chances of progressing into the I-League Second Division.
Dempo who are in third position and have 4 points to their credit will look to ward off danger, so they will throw everything into the game after losing to state mate Sporting Clube de Goa. The Flaming Oranje side occupy the top spot with 7 points while Sporting Club Bengaluru are on same points. However, Sporting boast of a better goal average than FC Bengaluru.
Dempo head coach Samir Naik stressed that his team was ready for the crucial clash and hopeful of securing a spot in the I-League 3.
"It’s our last chance in the group stage, and we are playing for a win. We know that KLASA are currently at the bottom and our goal is to get all three points," he said. "The team is fully prepared, and we aim to show ourselves in the best light to secure qualification. We have only one opportunity and we will wait for the results of the other matches." We will play with the last remaining hope to secure a spot in the I-League Second Division.
"We will focus on the small details to achieve victory. Our players have a professional mentality, and I appreciate their performance in the recent period. We are ready for them, relying on ourselves to achieve the win and cling on to the hope of qualification."he concluded.
