Jai Bhavani, Wadiwada, Kundaim, emerged champions defeating Mallikarjun Manuswada, by 5 runs in the finals of the Kundaim village inter-ward five-over tennis-ball cricket tournament organised by Kundaim Cricketers, Kundaim, organised to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of Club House, at Kundaim Panchayat ground.
In all, 10 teams participated in the tournament. Earlier, a special exhibition match was played between Kundaim Cricketers and Old Fox, Kundaim. The winners bagged a cash prize of Rs 10,000 while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 5,000.
In the finals, Jai Bhavani, Kundaim scored 35 runs from five overs. In reply, Mallikarjun managed to score 30 runs in the allotted overs. The semifinal losers, Om Cricketers and Navdurga, Kundaim, were also given a cash prize of Rs 2,000 each.
Individual prizes: best bowler - Gauresh Kundaikar, best batsman - Gaurish Sawant, best fielder - Anay Naik, special prize - Navnath Naik, Man of the tournament - Sachin Naik.
