Mandopa Sporting Club stormed into the semifinals of the 46th St Joseph Festival Football Tournament with a dominant 4-1 victory over hosts Dramapur SC at the Dramapur Ground on Thursday.
The visitors took early control of the match and carried a 1-0 lead into the break. In the second half, Mandopa Sporting turned up the pressure and overwhelmed the home side with a flurry of goals.
Sam Pereira opened the scoring in the 26th minute, setting the tone for Mandopa. Richard Costa doubled the lead in the 36th minute with a composed finish, and just three minutes later, Sweden Costa made it 3-0 with a well-taken goal. Travis D’Sousa added a fourth in the 45th minute, giving Mandopa a commanding cushion before half-time.
Dramapur SC pulled one back in the 56th minute through Rowan Fernandes, but the hosts were unable to mount a comeback as Mandopa comfortably saw out the remainder of the game.
