Navelim SC blanked St Anthony SC Assolda 2-0 to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the inaugural Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy, organized by Batora United Club in association with Margao Sports Club, at DSYA Ground in Curtorim on Monday.
St. Anthony SC Assolda had an early chance in the 4th minute when Reagen Fernandes missed narrowly, failing to find the target. Navelim SC's Velon Rebello also squandered an opportunity in the 10th minute.
Navelim SC took control in the second half with goals from Anthony D'Silva in the 47th minute and Benson Almeida in the 50th minute, sealing the win for the team.
The match was attended by guests Melvin D'Costa and Paul Rodrigues, who presented the 'Man of the Match' award to Atif Shaikh of Navelim SC, along with other awards to the players.
