International Master Nitish Belurkar was awarded Best Sportsman of the Year 2019-20 at the 39th Foundation Day of Goa University.

Prof Shekhar Mande, former DG, CSIR, handed over the prize in the presence of Prof Harilal Menon, Vice Chancellor, Goa University, Prof VS Nadkarni, Registrar, and Prof Donald AE Rodrigues, Joint Registrar, Goa University. Nitish was awarded for his achievements, the International Master norm, Aeroflot Open, Moscow, Abu Dhabi Masters and bronze medal, Asian Youth Blitz Championship, Solo, Indonesia.
