Nuvem Sports Club scored a narrow 1-0 win over Varca SC to enter the semifinals of the 32nd Super Soccer football tournament organised by United Boys of Dando Colva in memory of late Joao Francis Fernandes at Dando Ground, Benaulim on Saturday.
The only goal was scored by Alvito Dias in the seventh minute, assisted by Mildroy Colaco. The early goal gave Nuvem the advantage and they maintained the lead throughout the match. Mohammed, put up an outstanding performance by making some excellent saves. His efforts kept the scoreline at 1-0, despite Nuvem's attempts to add more goals.
The second half saw a shift in the momentum as Varca SC started taking control of the match. Clayton and Colombo combined well, creating chances for Varca.
However, things took a turn for the worse for Varca when their goalkeeper, Mohammed, received a straight red card. Despite the setback, Varca continued to push forward and gave Nuvem some anxious moments towards the end of the game. Nuvem managed to hold on to their lead until the final whistle, securing the victory with a 1-0 scoreline.
Mildroy Colaco of Nuvem was presented the Man of the match trophy by Tennison Rosa.
