Nuvem Veterans secured a 2-0 victory over Mitra Veterans Candolim, advancing to the quarter-finals of the 20th All Goa Veterans Football Tournament, organised by Flame of Unity Sports Club at Mabai Ground in Per Seraulim, on Sunday.
The first goal for Nuvem Veterans was scored by Menino Miranda in the 9th minute with a well-connected header. Milagres Fernandes extended the lead with a well-placed shot in the 15th minute.
Veterans football at Santa Cruz
Mix Friends of Santa Cruz will organise their All Goa Veterans football tournament, starting April 20 at Santa Cruz ground. The final will be played on May 5. Cash prizes of Rs 40,000 and Rs 25,000 will be awarded to the winners and runners-up. Those born on or before January 1, 1974 are eligible to participate. St Rocks’s Youth Club, Calata-Majorda will be organising 32nd St Rock’s Super Soccer football tournament in memory of their member, late Sebastiao C Dias, from April 1 to 21 at St Rock’s ground, Calata- Majorda. Goa to host Khelo India archery tourney
Amateur Archery Association in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa will be hosting the Zonal (West) Khelo India NTPC Open Archery Tournament from March 20 to 22 at Sports Authority of Goa complex ground, Campal, Panaji. More than 216 archers and officials from six States -- Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Daman & Diu and hosts Goa -- will participate in the zonal level archery tournament.
