Chandrawaddo Boys Fatorda secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Rosary Boys Davorlim, propelling themselves into the quarter-finals of the 4th Davorlim SCC All-Goa Inter Village Open Football Tournament.
In the early moments of the match, in the tournament organised by Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club at the Davorlim Club Ground in Laymati on Sunday, Davorlim's Rayson Colaco missed a scoring opportunity, with Chandrawaddo's goalkeeper, Carol Soares, denying him in a one-on-one chance. However, the deadlock was broken in the 26th minute when Minguel Barreto of Chandrawaddo provided a precise through pass to Elroy Barreto, whose left-footed strike found the back of the net.
As the game progressed into the second half, Rosary Boys Davorlim squandered several chances, with Patson Gomes, Agnelo Colaco, and Prince Figueredo missing opportunities in the 36th, 40th, and 43rd minutes, respectively. Chandrawaddo capitalised on their lead in the 45th minute when Hanshlum Furtado's glancing header, assisted by Francisco Andrade, eluded Davorlim's goalkeeper, Francisco Colaco.
In the closing moments of the match, Hanshlum Furtado completed his brace with a well-connected volley from inside the box, securing victory for Chandrawaddo and sealing the fate of Rosary Boys Davorlim.
The tournament was inaugurated by Laxmikant Mangueskar, a prominent social worker and football enthusiast, in the presence of PI Filomeno Costa and Caitano Costa, the president of Davorlim Club.
