AdapT Football Academy and AT Foundation's programme head and head coach Bhakti Pawar has passed the AFC ‘C' licence course held in Belgaum recently.
The course was led by Goan instructor Shekhar Kerkar, who said, "Bhakti Parwar is an inspiration to many girls in remote parts of our country. She was always eager to learn during the course held at Belgaum; always punctual in completing her tasks on and off the field. Her planning and preparation are very good and this quality will help her grow in the coaching field. I wish her all the success in her journey as a football coach.” AFC ‘A’ licence coach Anju Turambekar has mentored and supported Bhakti for the past year.
Navelim SC hammer Rossman Cruz 8-2
Navelim Sporting Club hammered Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club 8-2 to enter the quarterfinals of the 15th nine-a-side St Anthony Festival Cup 2023 inter-village football tournament organised by St Anthony SC Assolda at Moll Ground, Assolda on Saturday.
Navelim led 4-1 at the breather. The highlight of the match was a brilliant hat-trick by Sadroy Costa. Navelim dominated the game and pushed their opponents on the back foot. Ronaldo Pereira, Nash Pereira, Aden Pereira, Velington Almeida and Preston Costa were the other goal-getters while Imamsaheb and Eusbeio Fernandes scored for Rossman Cruz. Fr Peter D'Souza, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the tournament.
Davorlim SC edge past St Rock on penalties
Davorlim SC beat St Rock YC Majorda Calata 6-4 via the tiebreaker to move into the quarterfinals of the 50th Custodio Memorial inter-village football tournament organised by Raia Sporting Club.
Sanju Trikonni of Davorlim put his team in front in the 43rd minute. Seven minutes later, Beevan D'Mello of Majorda cancelled the lead. In the tiebreaker, Davorlim SC netted through William Niasso, Delton Colaco, Milton Colaco, Averette Colaco and Darwin Colaco.
For St Rock YC Calata Majorda, Beevan D'Mello, Sheley Rodrigues and Irfan Lal netted. Delton Colaco of Davorlim was awarded the man of the match prize at the hands of Fr Micheal Pereira of SVD Seminary, Damon Raia.
Archery selection trials for National Games
PANAJI: Amateur Archery Association, Goa in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa and Goa Olympic Association will conduct the selection trials in archery for senior men and women on June 24 and 25 at Ponda complex, Ponda from 10 am to 5.30 pm.
The trials will be held to select probables for the forthcoming 37th National Games. All the archers interested in attending the trials should report at the venue to Laxmi Priya Sharma, archery coach or Rohan Nancxlkar, executive member of AAA Goa, with a proper playing kit.
