Salgaocar FC scored a narrow 1-0 win over Panjim Footballers in the Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Thursday.
Fhezer Gomes scored the lone goal of the game in the second half in the 51st minute. Fhezer was adjudged man of the match and the award was presented to him by GFA Executive members Sanjeev Nagvekar and Anthony Vas. Salgaocar FC moved to six points from three games while Panjim Footballers remain on one point from three matches.
Curtorim Gymkhana down Canacona 4-1
Curtorim Gymkhana shunted out Canacona SC 4-1 via the tiebreaker to enter into the semis of Fr Agnelo inter-village soccer organised by Fr Agnelo YSC at Avedem, Paroda.
Terence Lobo gave the lead to Canacona SC while Amar Estibeiro equalised for Curtorim Gymkhana. In the ensuing tiebreaker, only Pralhad Velip scored for Canacona SC while Milagres Fernandes, Afileo Fernandes, Vicky Cardozo and Manuel Castanha netted for Curtorim Gymkhana.
